Information regarding the first minifigure-scale sets for the LEGO Super Mario series has recently been almost fully leaked. According to a list published by the well-known leaker account @unibricks, eight new sets are expected to launch in January 2027, with prices ranging from $9.99 to $99.99, and each set will include at least one minifigure.
Since the launch of the LEGO Super Mario series in 2020, over 180 sets have been released. However, all previous products featured electronic interactive brick figures—characters like Mario and Luigi were presented in blocky forms rather than as traditional LEGO minifigures. This leak of eight sets marks a significant shift for the series, officially introducing the classic minifigure scale that fans have long anticipated.
Six of the set numbers in this leak match earlier information reported by Brick Fanatics on August 3. Combining data from both sources, the 1,622-piece total comes to $234.94, averaging about 14.5 cents per piece, which is slightly higher than LEGO's typical pricing.
Among them, the 850-piece set 72060 "Fire Mario & Bowser's Castle" has a cost per piece of 11.8 cents, offering good value; whereas the 104-piece set 72056 "Mario Kart – Luigi & Baby Bowser's Karts" has a high cost per piece of 28.8 cents, making it a typical "high price, low piece count" set.
Notably, set 72059 (an 18+ set with 755 pieces, scheduled for release in March 2027), previously reported by Brick Fanatics, did not appear in the newly leaked list of eight sets.
The current line of interactive electronic figures is expected to be fully discontinued by the end of 2026. This means the minifigure sets launching in January 2027 will represent a reboot of the product line rather than an expansion—the LEGO Super Mario series will completely move away from the electronic interactive era and fully transition to traditional minifigure play.
Additionally, no Princess Peach-related sets appeared in the leaked list. As of press time, LEGO has not responded to these leaks, and players are advised to treat the rumors with caution.
