Halo co-founder Marcus Lehto has recently been sharing his thoughts on Halo: Combat Evolved on social media.
As a former Bungie developer, he stated that overall, the content experience in Halo: Combat Evolved is decent, but he also criticized certain aspects, including the prequel missions.
His posts have also caught the attention of fans, with some expressing hope to see the developer rejoin the team. Judging from his recent reply to a fan, Marcus Lehto seems very open to the idea.
He replied, "I would be willing to return."
Of course, the recent management struggles of the Halo series are no secret. The franchise has barely managed to stay afloat by relying heavily on outsourcing, while 343 Industries has consistently failed to find the right direction for Xbox's most iconic IP.
Perhaps veteran developers like Marcus Lehto could help steer the series back on track. In fact, fans have called for other seasoned game designers to return, hoping to see the Halo series recapture the glory of the early 2000s.
