"Metro 2039" Makes a Grand Debut at Gamescom, with Multiple Game Updates to be Revealed This Week

Metro 2039 will make a major appearance at Gamescom 2026. The developer plans to release a series of reveals, a new gameplay trailer, and lift the embargo on the first hands-on reviews from media and content creators during the event week. From August 26 to 30, players can try out the game at the booth in Hall 9.1.

The first wave of official announcements will be released on Monday, August 24, with exclusive reveals posted on the official Metro social media channels and community platforms. The developer teased that fans absolutely shouldn't miss this reveal, though no further details have been disclosed yet.

On Tuesday, August 25, the brand-new gameplay trailer for Metro 2039 will have its world premiere during the Opening Night Live at Gamescom. Opening Night Live is scheduled to begin at 8 PM CEST, 7 PM BST, and 11 AM PDT.

The embargo on the first preview reviews of Metro 2039 by media and content creators will be lifted on Wednesday. Invited media outlets and creators have already experienced parts of the game, and their impressions will be released gradually on Wednesday morning.

The public area of Gamescom opens on Thursday and runs through Sunday. Attendees can head to the Metro 2039 booth in Hall 9.1 to play the game, offering one of the first opportunities for players to get their hands on this new title.

The demo stations at the booth are powered by hardware from NVIDIA, AOC, and Turtle Beach. There will also be photo spots and Metro 2039 themed merchandise for sale. The developer encourages fans attending Gamescom to visit Hall 9.1 to experience the game firsthand.
