Xbox Store Leak Reveals Console Port of 'NekoNeko Connect', Officially Scheduled for Release on September 8

Before any official announcement, the Xbox Store already featured a product page for "The Binding of Meow," even seemingly leaking a September 8 release date.

Although "Grand Theft Auto VI" has overshadowed nearly every other title before its release, 2026 still boasts an impressive lineup of quality games. With most AAA titles choosing to avoid competing directly with this "Super Bowl of gaming" blockbuster, indie games have carried much of the market this year.

Titles like "Tram Rush," "Super Chameleon," "Stone Cairn," and "Miner Mina" are among the standouts, with "The Binding of Meow," released earlier this year, being a major hit in the indie scene. The game initially launched exclusively on Steam, so many players missed out on experiencing Edmund McMillen's unique blend of cat breeding and tactical roguelike gameplay. However, that situation is about to change.

Xbox商店泄露《喵喵的结合》主机移植版 9月8日正式定档发售

Reddit user smolgote discovered that the official Xbox Store had already launched a product page for "The Binding of Meow" in the "Game Leaks & Rumors" subreddit. At the time of writing, the page was still accessible and contained detailed information, including a full list of achievements, making it highly unlikely to be a placeholder page.

In fact, the Xbox Store page confirms that the console port of "The Binding of Meow" will officially launch on September 8, meaning players worldwide can join the cat-raising craze in just a few weeks. Given that Gamescom will feature a "Binding of Meow Concert" segment, it's highly likely that the official announcement will be made at the event.

Although this store page clearly shouldn't have been revealed before the official announcement, it's not surprising that a console port of "The Binding of Meow" is coming. Shortly after the PC version launched, Edmund McMillen confirmed that a port and subsequent DLC were in development; players were just waiting for the specific release date. As it turns out, they didn't have to wait long.
