Summary: The narrative-driven deck-building puzzle RPG "Veil of Madness," developed by Stormling Studio and published by Wandering Wizard, has launched its free demo on Steam. Meanwhile, the official team has simultaneously started two community prize events—the "Abnormal Case Deep Consultation" trailer decryption event and the demo feedback event—inviting players to dive into Sophia's twisted dreams for a chance to win prizes such as game controllers, desktop docking stations, and game CD keys.
"Veil of Madness," a puzzle + deck-building RPG developed by Stormling Studio and published by Wandering Wizard, officially launched its free demo on Steam on August 12th. In this first-person role-playing game featuring a retro dark pixel art style, you will play as a psychology expert using the brain-computer interface device "The Revealer" to delve into the dream labyrinth of a patient named Sophia.
Faced with layers of distorted subconscious landscapes and fear manifestations, you need to use faction-specific cards to build your deck, defeat enemies in turn-based battles, and solve psychological puzzles hidden deep within the dreamscape. The demo version is now available for download, allowing all players to freely experience this prologue leading into the depths of madness.
First Week Demo Feedback Event
Additionally, the demo feedback event is currently underway. All players who have tried the demo can leave their impressions and suggestions in the official post on the HeyBox community to help the development team further optimize the game experience. The feedback event will last for one week and end on August 28th. The official team will randomly select 3 players to receive a CD key for "Veil of Madness." Whether it's the balance of the combat system, the fluidity of puzzle-solving, or the overall immersion of the narrative, every piece of genuine feedback from players will serve as an important reference for polishing the final version of "Veil of Madness."
[Abnormal Case Deep Consultation] Trailer Decryption Event
Alongside the demo launch, Wandering Wizard officially started the "Abnormal Case Deep Consultation" trailer decryption event. Players need to carefully watch the demo trailer for "Veil of Madness," decipher the cryptic words repeatedly uttered by the patient Sophia while in a coma, and submit their decryption results via direct message to the [Wandering Wizard] Bilibili or HeyBox account backend.
The game officials will reward the top 10 experts who provide valid decryption solutions based on submission time and accuracy: the 1st place winner will receive a Beitong Hanbaiyu game controller, the 2nd–3rd place winners will each receive a desktop expansion dock charging station, and the 4th–10th place winners will each receive a Steam CD Key for "Veil of Madness." The event runs from now until October 26th. As participation increases, the number of prizes may be further expanded, so players who submit their decryption solutions earlier will have a better chance of winning big prizes.
The demo for "Veil of Madness" is now available for free on Steam, with Chinese language support. Players interested in narrative-driven deck-building RPGs, psychological horror themes, or retro pixel art styles are welcome to download the demo from the Steam store page and add "Veil of Madness" to their wishlist! We encourage everyone to participate in the trailer decryption event and the demo feedback campaign—generous prizes and unspeakable truths await your discovery!
