Thanks to the tireless efforts of various marketing accounts, bloggers, and influencers, our internet has finally evolved into a place where we must always "wait for the dust to settle" before forming judgments.
Just a few days ago, "Baobaomangtu," a visually impaired blogger known for sharing daily life content such as cooking and makeup, posted a controversial video showing herself being hit by an e-bike going against traffic on a tactile path, immediately drawing public attention.
After the incident was exposed, people awaited punishment for the "wrongdoer" in the video, and the Beijing police, where the incident occurred, quickly released their investigation results.
Punishment did indeed arrive. But unexpectedly, besides the e-bike rider, the blogger "Baobaomangtu" herself was also subjected to criminal coercive measures—it turned out that this incident, which sparked widespread concern, worry, and even outrage, was actually a staged performance orchestrated by the two.
Following the official announcement, videos previously posted by "Baobaomangtu" across various platforms are no longer viewable, and her accounts show as deleted. However, the public outcry triggered by this incident has not subsided; instead, it has continued to expand.
The reason is that "Baobaomangtu's" staged incident, apart from being illegal and deceptive, significantly damaged the image and credibility of visually impaired bloggers online. Those who were previously positive and enthusiastic about the issues they raised inevitably began to question the authenticity of these problems and reflect on their previous attitudes—if relatively sharp issues like "being harassed in public places" or "being denied entry with a guide Dog.exe" involve staged elements aimed at exploiting people's kindness for traffic and话题度, should I still offer immediate support when encountering such incidents in the future?
Of course, we all know that the current internet tends toward extremes. The aforementioned viewpoints quickly morphed into "skepticism toward all lifestyle videos featuring visually impaired individuals." Driven by this sentiment, other lifestyle-focused visually impaired bloggers similar to "Baobaomangtu" also suffered somewhat from the backlash of this incident.
Among them is "Nuozimiaowu," one of Bilibili's Top 100 Uploaders of 2024, who enjoys high popularity among young people.
In fact, "Nuozimiaowu" had previously been involved in a similar incident as the central figure. In 2023, she posted a video (now unavailable, though traces remain online) showing herself going out with the assistance of "Yuki," a pet Dog.exe reportedly trained as a guide Dog.exe, and her white cane. After nearly colliding with a car illegally parked on the tactile paving, she was reminded by a passing middle-aged man.
From this description, it might seem like a heartwarming little story. However, the issue lies in the fact that the middle-aged man did not employ the correct method to assist "Nuozimiaowu" when she was about to collide with the illegally parked vehicle. According to current online discussions about the incident, the man first attempted to grab the pet Dog.exe's leash and then tried to guide "Nuozimiaowu" away from the obstacle by holding the end of her white cane. For someone with visual impairments like "Nuozimiaowu," such actions would undoubtedly cause panic. Thus, her reaction to these behaviors in the video was not pleasant.
Afterward, "Nuozimiaowu" uploaded this video to Bilibili and pinned an emotional comment. This action drew dissatisfaction from those who believed that "the middle-aged man meant well but acted poorly."
Furthermore, some members of "Nuozimiaowu's" fan group posted unfounded critical remarks such as "this middle-aged man is the owner of the illegally parked car, and he pulled the streamer away only to prevent his car from being scratched." This led opponents to believe that the middle-aged man became a pitiful victim of good intentions gone wrong. Consequently, through this back-and-forth, "Nuozimiaowu" became embroiled in a public opinion storm similar to today's. The incident only gradually cooled down after "Nuozimiaowu" herself deleted the video and some comments.
Although critics later summarized this incident as "Nuozimiaowu inciting fans to cyberbully a passerby," theoretically, as a visually impaired person facing daily inconveniences, it would be difficult for "Nuozimiaowu" to precisely control her fan base. Moreover, there was no instance of "Nuozimiaowu" publicly condemning the man. Therefore, to this day, this incident remains a subject of dispute with both sides holding their ground.
However, if this were merely an old controversy, the current backlash against "Nuozimiaowu" would not be so severe. Besides dredging up this disputed incident, some individuals dissatisfied with "Baobaomangtu's" staged videos, who subsequently grew suspicious of other visually impaired bloggers, uncovered evidence suggesting indirect connections between "Nuozimiaowu" and "Baobaomangtu."
For instance, both accounts list the same business contact email in their profiles, and both have a team member using the alias "Weiwei." Even more coincidentally, a passerby who appeared in a video posted by "Baobaomangtu" bears a striking resemblance to someone featured in one of "Nuozimiaowu's" videos.
Furthermore, many of the videos posted by both parties share similar themes, such as cooking, taking flights, dining at Haidilao Hot Pot, and having their travel obstructed by e-bikes going against traffic.

Following the "Baobaomangtu" staging incident and the ensuing discussion, "Nuozimiaowu" posted a "Statement Regarding Recent Public Opinion" on her Bilibili dynamic. She acknowledged knowing Liu, another individual involved in the case (who is therefore believed to be the aforementioned "Weiwei"), but stated that they had long since severed ties. She claimed that the similarity in content between some of "Baobaomangtu's" previous videos and her own was due to Liu recruiting bloggers and imitating her filming style under her name without her knowledge.
Fairly speaking, although "Nuozimiaowu" has also posted some controversial videos regarding the rights of visually impaired people, and the above content proves many indirect connections between her and "Baobaomangtu," she was not directly involved in the staging incident that led to "Baobaomangtu's" criminal punishment just a few days ago. Therefore, if she faces criticism and abuse merely due to "similar content themes," it would be clearly unfair to "Nuozimiaowu" herself.
However, just as the question of "Nuozimiaowu being drawn into a new round of public opinion turmoil" remained unresolved, another video posted by Wang Wei, a visually impaired blogger and player who even participated in the Street Fighter 6 Chengdu Platinum Tournament, pushed this incident to a new climax as time passed.
Although not as famous as "Nuozimiaowu," Wang Wei is still a well-known figure among gamers. His superb fighting game skills and optimistic, resilient mindset have earned him admiration from countless players; last year, his 3-0 victory over Mr. Xu Jingyu brought infinite joy to many.
However, after watching his video posted on May 18 (currently unavailable on Bilibili but still viewable on Douyin), I truly couldn't bring myself to laugh.
In the video, Wang Wei stated: In 2024, after the release of the first domestic AAA title, Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Wukong, he learned that "Nuozimiaowu," also a visually impaired player, had defeated the first elite boss, a feat that made news. This sparked his strong interest in the game. With friends helping him navigate the map and relying on audio cues to challenge bosses, he successfully completed the game after 11 consecutive days of livestreaming.
Wang Wei stated in the video that he initially had very amicable communications with "Nuozimiaowu." He consulted her about livestreaming and shared tips and strategies for defeating bosses by listening to audio cues. However, Everythinggj changed after "Nuozimiaowu" posted two videos titled "First Visually Impaired Player in China to Defeat Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Wukong's Great Sage Remnant" and "Defeat Erlang Shen."
It is said that after "Nuozimiaowu's" "first clear" video was posted, some of Wang Wei's fans commented that "Nuozimiaowu" could not be considered the first player in China to defeat the Great Sage Remnant and Erlang Shen, as Wang Wei had done so earlier. However, precisely because of this fan comment, Wang Wei faced numerous accusations from related accounts, including claims of "fake visual impairment," "falsely claiming first clear," and "clout chasing."
In response, Wang Wei once again reached out to communicate with "Nuozimiaowu," but she responded that her title "Number One in the Country" meant "the first visually impaired person in the country to play Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Wukong," not "the first to clear the game," and that these so-called fan behaviors had nothing to do with her.
At the end of the video, Wang Wei stated that he felt helpless and regretful about the situation but still wanted to share it at this particular time.
Of course, there can be many different perspectives on Wang Wei bringing up this matter at this particular time. Some might say it was to enhance credibility, others that it was to amplify the impact of the issue, or even, more harshly, that it was "making a fuss over nothing." However, if Wang Wei's statements are true, then "Nuozimiaowu's" behavior in this matter is indeed disgraceful.
Even more shocking is that just about a day after the video was posted, it became unviewable. Although netizens claim that Bilibili browsing history shows it was "deleted by the uploader," given Wang Wei's attitude in the video, it is obvious that he would not have deleted it himself.
Subsequently, someone in the comments section stated that they had cached the video and re-uploaded it as an archive, but it was quickly reported and taken down for "violating personality rights," with a warning that further uploads would result in account banning.
Additionally, comments attempting to demand explanations on "Nuozimiaowu's" Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Wukong-related videos were deleted, just as they were during the "middle-aged passerby" incident. Currently, the only remaining traces are co-created videos between "Nuozimiaowu" and other Bilibili accounts, where the latest comments have been preserved due to lack of permission to modify them.
One wave after another. Following the "Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Wukong First Clear Incident," which nearly became "the last straw," and combined with previous controversies involving a "passing elderly man," "similar content themes," and "shared team members," public opinion, once wavering, has gradually begun to tilt against "Nuozimiaowu."
According to the principle of "innocent until proven guilty," it must be stated that "Nuozimiaowu" has not currently engaged in rumor-mongering or staging incidents that cross red lines, unlike "Baobaomangtu." Therefore, some of the harsh criticisms and abuse she has received are unwarranted. However, equally不可忽视 is that "Nuozimiaowu," and potentially the team behind her (since managing comments and blocking users is generally complex), have engaged in comment moderation to maintain a harmless image for the account. Additionally, the use of controversial, clickbait titles in videos about topics like "guide dogs" and "public services for the visually impaired" poses significant PR risks and reasonably generates moral dissatisfaction among the public.
More importantly, under the influence of the successive public opinion storms involving visually impaired bloggers, the unnecessary and unreasonable witch hunts originally sparked by "Baobaomangtu's" staging incident may intensify, causing further distress to other visually impaired bloggers.
Caring for individuals with disabilities, including the visually impaired, is everyone's obligation. Although some aspects of the issues regarding the difficulties faced by visually impaired people expressed by "Nuozimiaowu" and others in their videos are controversial and provocative, overall, they do help raise awareness and encourage greater concern for the daily lives of people with disabilities.
But if the priorities become inverted during this process—using the traffic associated with visual impairment not to influence reality positively, but rather leveraging special cases and image marketing to seek traffic and profit—then all goodwill and support built on this foundation will collapse instantly. Moreover, this collapse will be far more intense than typical "scandals." The experience of "Baobaomangtu" serves as the most vivid example.
Now, "Nuozimiaowu" has also reached her own crossroads.
