At the recently concluded ChinaJoy 2025, the Panzhi Game Services booth stood out as the most unique presence in Hall N1, which was otherwise filled with major single-player titles. Unlike other booths featuring demo machines and large screens, the Panzhi booth featured counters, offices, and consultation areas with round tables, resembling an insurance marketing service center. If not for the cosplayers at the booth, I might have doubted whether I was still at the ChinaJoy exhibition.
Of course, there is a reason for this unique booth design—earlier this year, Panzhi Game Services partnered with Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance to implement an overall industrial upgrade in security guarantees and compliance for virtual property transactions. This booth setup was designed specifically to promote this initiative.
In this intriguing atmosphere, I met Liu Hao, Brand Manager of Panzhi, and Wu Xiaonan, Head of Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance. I asked many questions, ranging from the specifics of the "Panzhi Game Services x Ping An P&C" partnership to the more familiar "account recovery video series," and they provided detailed answers. If you are interested in secure game account trading, or if you are planning to buy or sell a game account, this interview is a must-read.
Q: It has been exactly one year since our last interview. Have there been any notable achievements in Panzhi's development over the past year?
A:Compared to last year, our business has seen substantial growth. Not only have we surpassed 20 million users, but our daily transaction volume has also exceeded 100,000. At the same time, we have become the first company in the industry to collaborate with a leading insurance enterprise like Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance, jointly exploring and cooperating on security guarantees and compliance for virtual property transactions.
Q: This year, Panzhi partnered with Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance. How did this collaboration come about?
A:Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance actually began experimenting with protections for virtual property transactions as early as 2013. Since Panzhi places great emphasis on the security of player account transactions, we quickly found common ground. This led to the collaborative model of "Panzhi provides compensation guarantees, backed by Ping An P&C," representing a strong alliance between two industry leaders.
Q: Not long ago, Panzhi upgraded its compensation-guaranteed service. What was the background behind this upgrade?
A:This stems from our company's philosophy. Our founder is also a gamer who once saved three months' worth of living expenses during university to buy an account, only to have it recovered by the original owner shortly after purchase. Therefore, ensuring the security of account transactions has always been our original intention, and our corporate culture is centered on "making account trading safer." Simply put, this upgrade to our full-compensation guarantee service means that if an account is recovered, we will fully compensate the player, including the guarantee fee, resulting in zero financial loss for the user. Our confidence in pioneering this industry-first service lies in our professional after-sales team, technical defenses, and joint legal education efforts with various departments and police units, which have reduced the account recovery rate to an industry-leading level.
Q: One difficulty in game account trading is that it's hard to establish clear standards for account value. Panzhi offers valuation services; could you elaborate on this?
A:Leveraging over ten million real transaction records accumulated over seven years, Panzhi deeply analyzes these historical cases and uses self-developed core algorithm models for multi-dimensional assessments (such as character level, equipment rarity, skin value, market supply and demand, etc.). We also monitor the impact of game version updates and event adjustments on account asset values, while keeping track of the latest market trends reflected by the massive daily transaction data on our platform. Our goal is to provide users with objective, precise, and market-referential account valuation services, helping buyers and sellers price more reasonably and effectively improving transaction efficiency and success rates.
Q: Panzhi has been producing a series of videos tracking down account recoverers. This seems difficult and costly. Why did you decide to make these videos initially, and how have you managed to persist?
A:Indeed, producing such videos is costly and sometimes involves significant risks. However, there are two main reasons for doing so. First, it serves as promotion for our company's security guarantee services and acts as a deterrent against account recovery fraudsters. Many people seriously underestimate the legal consequences of recovering stolen accounts, and these videos effectively help educate the public on the law. Second, the support from players has given us a great sense of achievement. We are now the largest content creator in this niche on Bilibili, with over 1.6 million followers. Compared to before we started making these videos, both our account recovery rate and the industry-wide rate have dropped significantly. As you can see from our data, the amounts involved in recoveries have been decreasing in recent years. This is partly due to our continuous publicity efforts on new media platforms alongside our peers, which is one of the reasons we persist.
Q: The game account trading sector is quite competitive. What advantages do you think Panzhi possesses?
A:From the perspective of our platform's advantages, we have pioneered several business models in the industry, such as full compensation for recovered accounts and our collaboration with Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance. We also initiated partnerships with major platforms and enterprises like JD.com, Taobao, and Alipay. Innovation and collaboration have always been cornerstones of our rapid growth. Additionally, we have a professional customer service team of over 800 people safeguarding every transaction. From a humanistic perspective, almost everyone in our company is a seasoned gamer. Even in our promotion reviews, we assess employees' familiarity with games, including terminology, slang, representative characters, and meme culture. Therefore, we psychologically stand with our users, empathize with them, and better understand their needs.
Q: Playing on overseas servers is quite common now, but there are few trading platforms available for this. Last year, you mentioned wanting to expand your business globally. Is this currently being pushed forward?
A:Our success is intertwined with the development of China's domestic gaming industry. We have witnessed the achievements of Chinese games overseas, and thus we are currently preparing plans for expanding our business internationally. We welcome partners to join us in exploring and co-creating opportunities.
Q: Besides account trading, does Panzhi have any plans or interest in venturing into other areas?
A:We are interested in all third-party services within the gaming industry, and we currently have plans in preparation. Additionally, we look forward to collaborating with game developers and supporting and publishing outstanding domestic games. Since our success is tied to that of the gaming industry, we want to contribute to the development of China's gaming sector. All of this is part of our plan.
Q: For Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance, what was the opportunity that led you to partner with Panzhi for ChinaJoy, and what concept did you aim to convey at this event?
A:Both Ping An and Panzhi are leading enterprises in their respective fields. Through our in-depth collaboration with Panzhi, we aim to provide gamers with more comprehensive services. ChinaJoy is an authoritative event in this industry, so we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance's unique tech-financial service protection system to players, allowing them to see and understand Ping An more intuitively.
Q: From Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance's perspective, what are your thoughts on the gaming industry, and do you see any opportunities for collaboration?
A:Through this ChinaJoy exhibition and the speech at the CDEC Summit on July 31st, Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance, as an innovative tech company, has been continuously focusing on and researching emerging industries. In recent years, government departments at all levels, from the State Council and the General Office of the CPC Central Committee to provincial and municipal authorities, have issued policy guidelines for the gaming industry. We deeply study and understand these policies to fulfill Ping An P&C's tech-finance responsibilities. While providing protection under existing models, we continue to innovate according to the principles of "scenario-based, diversified, and digitalized" services, offering comprehensive support across all ecological links of China's gaming industry and responding to policy calls to improve overseas services. We believe that in the future, we can further deepen our cooperation with developers, platforms, and players to jointly create a "green, healthy, and harmonious" virtual world.
