Horie Mina, known as "Japan's Strongest Streamer," recently shared an update on social media. Horie Mina holds a black belt in Goju-ryu karate. She went viral online for a video of her breaking roof tiles with her bare hands while wearing a cheongsam, setting a record of shattering 16 tiles at once. She also works as a freelance announcer, participated in the AKB48 third-generation auditions, and runs a business related to artist management, earning significant attention for her multifaceted career.

The accident occurred this February while she was filming a short video in collaboration with a long-established Japanese knife shop. In conventional karate board-breaking, boards are placed flat, and force is applied against the grain. However, this time she attempted a high-difficulty maneuver by standing the board vertically and striking its hard, narrow edge along the grain. The board did not break, and the massive recoil resulted in a hand fracture. She subsequently underwent surgery, with plates, bolts, and screws implanted in her wrist for stabilization. Due to the injury, she can no longer perform hand-striking demonstrations and has switched to using leg techniques in her videos. Netizens joked that almost no one attempts to break boards vertically, as it is difficult even for karate masters.
