Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Zhong Kui does not plan to use AI to accelerate game production. Yang Qi, co-founder of Game Science and art director of the Black MYTH - Steam Edition series, stated that the team currently prefers to stick to traditional workflows in design and asset production.
Today, Yang Qi shared his thoughts on watching the epic blockbuster Odyssey, directed by Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan, on Weibo. Under this post, a fan asked, "With the current level of AI, how much could the progress of Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Zhong Kui be accelerated?" Yang Qi replied, "We will stay away from AIGC during the design and asset stages. It's not out of resistance, but perhaps to fulfill our duties until the very end? Just to make a point: at a time when digital filmmaking and 3D post-production seem to be hitting a dead end, Nolan is thriving, stirring up the industry with older technical methods... There's no last train that must be caught; it's fine to stay at a small inn for a while. Besides, there's plenty of time for AI and such, no rush~"
However, this statement does not mean that Game Science will completely reject any AI technology in the future. It only pertains to the design and asset production stages of Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Zhong Kui, as well as the team's current development approach.
