Built with Unreal Engine 5, Vindictus: Defying Fate retains the original's Celtic mythology worldview and the series' signature hardcore melee combat feel. It introduces dynamic blocking and character-specific finishing moves, supporting both single-player and up to four-player co-op. Physical details such as character chain movements and armor cloth physics have been meticulously refined, with a roster of visually distinct playable characters to choose from.

The development team has abandoned the traditional one-time full release model in favor of a chapter-based continuous update plan. The main storyline will be unlocked in batches with version updates. Paid content is limited to costumes and cosmetic decorations; no items affecting combat stats will be sold, ensuring there is no pay-to-win barrier for the core action gameplay. The Alpha test has already been completed, and the team is currently optimizing combat feel, environments, and monster designs based on player feedback.

The developers are also encouraging players to add Vindictus: Defying Fate to their Steam wishlists, with character gameplay footage and boss battle demonstrations to be released gradually in the future.
