As the daily two-minute leaks continue, our latest glimpse of GTA VI shows a scene on the beach at dusk, with Jason riding his bike through the sand among crowds of sunbathers. The variation among some of these NPCs is, in my opinion, unprecedented in gaming history.
It's hard to understand why GTA VI leaker Cyberleek so frequently posts unofficial videos with extremely dim lighting. Like previous videos, this one is also quite dark; it could have better showcased this visually stunning game if filmed at a different time.
That said, this latest unofficial "promotional" reveal once again highlights details never before seen in other games. This time, the spotlight is on crowd NPCs.
For games featuring large crowds, it's common for NPC designs to exhibit some repetition. Sometimes this repetition is comically obvious, other times it's well-disguised, but that is certainly not the case with GTA VI.
In this video, it's difficult to find two instances of swim trunks or swimsuits in the same color, let alone the same person twice. Just like the nude campsite video released yesterday, this beach scene showcases a wide variety of body types and skin tones, and perhaps most impressively, their unique movements and animations. Moreover, this crowd doesn't just pop into existence when you get close; they are clearly visible even from a distance, with their distinct features discernible even in this low-quality video.
The in-game voice acting is also excellent. GTA VI continues the series' tradition, with people overreacting as soon as player characters appear, saying things like, "Stop staring at my boobs, okay? I know they're great, but..." Other lines I really enjoyed include: "I'm one of the hottest chicks here" and "Let's use the 'Mermaid Bitch' hashtag today, right?!"
Of course, the beach NPCs in GTA VI aren't perfect. There are occasional odd moments, such as backpacks appearing out of thin air as several men walk by, or a man slumped in a lounge chair swaying slightly as someone rides past. However, these flaws are overshadowed by the overall charm of the scene. The glow from phone screens as people take group photos or selfies, the gentle lapping of water against legs as the tide recedes, and the long shadows cast by the low sun on people's skin—it's all breathtaking.
