Record will be available for demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026. As a complete remake of Fate/EXTRA, this title features a redesigned combat system, presenting duels in the Moon Cell Arena through deck-building command battles.
The on-site demo allows players to choose a partner Servant from Saber, Archer, or Caster, and engage in arena exploration and combat. The demo offers two floors: the first floor includes tutorials and basic combat, while the second floor focuses on more difficult battles, scene exploration, and arena mechanisms.
In the new combat system, players draw command cards from their deck each turn and consume AP to execute attacks, defenses, or support actions. Except for certain special cards, the hand resets at the end of the turn. Attack cards with the "CHAIN" attribute can be linked consecutively; playing three such cards in the same turn grants a zero-cost "EXTRA Attack" card.
Guard values generated by defense carry over to the next turn, but enemy attacks do not display specific damage numbers, only indicating the general strength of the attack. Masters can also use items and "Code Cast" to support their Servants, such as restoring HP, increasing AP, or discarding their hand to redraw cards. "Code Cast" consumes MP but has no limit on uses per turn.
The three Servants have different deck strategies. Saber can accumulate zero-cost "Rose" cards to strengthen attacks, suitable for concentrating resources to deal high damage; Archer can generate cards through "Projection," flexibly switching between area-of-effect attacks and consecutive attacks; Caster revolves around "Rage" effects triggered by low HP and self-damage cards, making it relatively more difficult to operate.
Arena exploration also retains elements from the original. The second floor begins with interference from Shinji Matou, requiring players to dodge bombs and approach "Bomber Shinji" to delete him. Taiga Fujimura will also issue "Tiger Missions," where completing item searches rewards furniture for your personal room, though the demo does not allow entry into the personal room to view the specific effects.
Record is scheduled for release on January 28, 2027, launching on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, and PC (Steam). Tokyo Game Show 2026 will be held from September 17 to 21, with public open days from September 19 to 21.
