The third season of the anime Shangri-La Frontier is confirmed to premiere in Japan on January 10, 2027, alongside the reveal of a new key visual. The new season will air consecutively for two quarters, spanning the Winter 2027 and Spring 2027 seasons.
Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will exclusively stream the third season internationally during its Japanese broadcast. The official number of episodes for this season has not yet been announced.
The third season will pick up from the cliffhanger at the end of the second season, with Rakuro and his companions participating in a fighting game tournament. The first half of the new story is expected to revolve around this competition, featuring a new game stage.
Regarding the production staff, Toshiyuki Kubooka serves as Chief Director, Hiro Oki as Director, and Naoki Kotani as Assistant Director, with animation once again handled by C2C. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is in charge of the script, Ayumi Kurashima returns as character designer from the first two seasons, and music continues to be produced by MONACA.
No new voice cast additions have been announced for the third season yet. Before the official premiere, the first two episodes will have their global premiere at New York Comic Con in October 2026, allowing attendees to be the first to watch the new season's content.
