Rockstar Games has officially announced the Grand Theft Auto VI: The Soundtrack album. Set to launch alongside Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, the album will be available in physical CD and vinyl formats. However, the base game will only be offered as a digital edition at launch, sparking dissatisfaction among some players.
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Soundtrack features 34 original tracks from artists including Travis Scott, Keith Richards, and Future. These songs will also appear in the game, with the first six singles already available on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
The physical release strategy for the album has become a focal point of player discussion. In addition to being available on streaming platforms, the soundtrack can be collected on CD and vinyl. In contrast, Grand Theft Auto VI will not receive physical disc releases for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch.
Many players questioned this discrepancy after Rockstar's announcement, arguing that if music can be pressed onto discs, the game should receive the same treatment. Some players are now calling on Rockstar to release a physical edition of Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
