An error in answer validation occurred in The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary daily quiz within the Nintendo Today app, causing some players to fail their quizzes and lose a medal. Nintendo has now acknowledged the issue and issued an in-app apology.
The September 16 question came from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild quiz pack, asking players to determine what happens when Link approaches a group of Bokoblins while wearing a Bokoblin Mask. The options included "Surround him" and "Treat him as one of their own."
In fact, both answers fit the description: Bokoblins would treat Link as one of their own and surround him. However, the app at the time only recognized one of the answers, incorrectly marking "Surround him" as invalid.
In its apology, Nintendo confirmed that "Surround him" should have been accepted as a correct answer and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused. The company stated that it will reissue the update notes once the issue has been resolved.
Currently, the daily quizzes in Nintendo Today are still running normally, and specific measures to address the error have not yet been announced.
