Face UFO, a new Switch 2 title by Japanese developer Takahiro Miyazawa, has won the Grand Prize at SENSE OF WONDER NIGHT 2026. The game also secured three special awards, making it the most awarded entry of this year's competition.
SENSE OF WONDER NIGHT, abbreviated as SOWN, is an indie game planning competition hosted by the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association during the Tokyo Game Show. Face UFO uses player facial expressions as its control method. In addition to the Grand Prize, it also won the Best Experimental Game Award, Best Game Design Award, and Best Demo Award. Takahiro Miyazawa also received a $3,000 cash prize.
SOWN has been held since 2008, focusing on discovering creative works that bring freshness through visual presentation or gameplay concepts. The second-place Audience Award at SOWN 2026 was won by Untie!, a PC game by Chinese developer P.F.J.
The Best Technical Game Award and Best Art Award were both won by Legacy Code, a PC game by the Japanese development team "Room 127." In addition to the SOWN awards, Pocky, the official indie game ambassador for Tokyo Game Show 2026, selected their most anticipated games from the 151 entries in "SELECTED INDIE 80" and SOWN.
The awards were ultimately given to Joint Liability by UK team Hugecalf Studios, Teach My Sister to Drive by Korean team Easy Fox, and Become by Czech developer Valentin Wirth.
