Season 2 of Alien: Earth is currently in production in London. Recently leaked set photos reveal several armored vehicles bearing the Weyland-Yutani logo on site, with designs believed to closely resemble early models of the M577 Armored Personnel Carrier from Aliens.
The relevant photos were taken at Canary Wharf in London. The local resident who first posted the images was unaware of which production was being filmed, but fans of the Alien franchise later pointed out the similarity between the vehicles and the M577 APC. Additional set footage has since emerged, showing a building at Canary Wharf dressed as a Weyland-Yutani facility.
Another piece of set footage appears to capture an action sequence, with soldiers charging out of vehicles marked with the Weyland-Yutani logo. Current visuals do not confirm the specific narrative role of these vehicles, nor can it be determined whether the associated buildings will be depicted as corporate headquarters.
The M577 Armored Personnel Carrier is a key piece of equipment for the Colonial Marines in Aliens. The vehicle in the film was modified from the Hunslet ATT77 tug, previously used to tow aircraft at Heathrow Airport, and featured prominently in the sequence where Ripley enters The Facilty to rescue Hicks, Hudson, and Vasquez.
Since the story of Alien: Earth takes place approximately 59 years before Aliens, the vehicles on set appear to be less heavily armed than the Colonial Marine versions seen in the latter film. Their design and the timeline have sparked speculation that they represent early models in the M-series, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Showrunner Noah Hawley previously stated that Season 2 would be larger in scale and further expand the universe. The presence of multiple film-ready armored vehicles on set aligns with this claim. Alien: Earth Season 2 will air as a US television series, though its specific premiere date has not yet been announced.
