Black Butler celebrates its 20th anniversary of serialization on September 18. An official 20th-anniversary website has launched, a commemorative exhibition has been announced, and a promotional video has been released.
Black Butler began serialization in Monthly G Fantasy in 2006. The October issue, released on September 18, features special 20th-anniversary content and reviews the series' history to date in a timeline format.
The timeline covers key milestones such as the start of manga serialization, the release of tankōbon volumes and anthologies, as well as related projects including TV anime, games, musicals, and original art exhibitions. The author also shares a message with readers.
Several cast members from derivative works sent congratulatory messages, including Daisuke Ono, who voices Sebastian in the anime; Maaya Sakamoto, who voices Ciel; and Toshiki Tateishi and Ikudai Kobayashi, who portray Sebastian and Ciel respectively in the musicals.
This issue also includes new chibi-style illustration stickers featuring characters such as Sebastian. In addition to the magazine's commemorative content, the official 20th-anniversary website is now live, and a Black Butler 20th-anniversary exhibition will be held in the future.
