In the latter part of the film, medical transporter Brian arrives in Raccoon City, preparing to deliver samples needed for creating an antidote to the hospital.
As Brian crosses the street, zombies constantly leap at him from the rooftops. The camera pans toward the hospital, where a sign on a background storefront reads "Leon S. Kennedy Guns and Ammo." According to the film's timeline, Leon is still a rookie police officer at this point.
However, the origin of this sign remains unclear. Reports indicate that a journalist asked director Zach Cregger about it, and Cregger stated that he himself was unsure why it appeared in the film.
The other Easter egg is located in the hospital's underground parking lot. With zombies swarming the main building, Brian has no choice but to enter through the underground area. Some viewers noticed that as he pauses to figure out how to proceed, a car believed to be Leon's vehicle appears in the parking lot.
Currently, the gun shop sign can be clearly identified in the relevant scenes, while the connection between the parking lot vehicle and Leon comes from viewer observations. Both details appear in the latter half of the film, involving certain plot scenes.
