Rockstar Games might include Liberty City in GTA 6, making its map significantly larger than currently expected, on par with the state of Leonida.
Reportedly, the leaked Grand Theft Auto V source code files from 2023 (totaling approximately 200GB) have now been made public, exposing a canceled "Liberty City" expansion pack and leading players to speculate that Liberty City could become part of the GTA 6 map.
On social media, TJGM claimed that he obtained this information from Ook, a member of the World Travel modding team and developer behind the Liberty City Preservation Project. The leaked files include the planned expansion layout for Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto V, reconstructed using coastline data.
The user stated that Rockstar may have postponed the development plans for the Liberty City DLC to GTA 6. The leaked map layout also appears larger than Liberty City in GTA 4, which was already considered massive at the time. The leaked files also reveal new areas of Liberty City, indicating that Rockstar had made considerable progress on the expansion pack.
