Between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, six Capcom Resident Evil games each sold more than 3 million copies. Recent titles such as the remakes and Resident Evil Requiem are included in these statistics; the report also notes that older games from the series, released over a decade ago, still sold millions of copies.
Specific sales figures for the listed titles are as follows:
Resident Evil Requiem has sold over 8.5 million copies
Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) sold over 5 million copies during this period
Resident Evil 2 Remake sold approximately 4 million copies during the same period
Resident Evil 3 Remake sold approximately 4 million copies during the same period
Resident Evil Village sold 3.6 million copies during the same period
Resident Evil 7 sold 3 million copies during the same period
Different versions of older titles also contributed to sales.
The PS4 and Xbox One versions of Resident Evil 6 each sold over 500,000 copies during the same period; the Switch versions of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 6, as well as the 2017 version of Resident Evil: Revelations, each sold fewer than 300,000 copies.
Regarding future titles in the series, the remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica is currently in development and is expected to launch in the next fiscal year. The Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger was also recently released, receiving high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes in its first week and becoming the highest-rated game adaptation on the site.
