Bowie started playing Fortnite in 2017 under the username grumpygran1948. It was her grandson who first introduced her to the game, though he doubted anyone would watch her streams. Bowie said this remark only motivated her to prove she could do it.
She plays Fortnite every day, but her goal isn't to win matches. In an interview with BBC Video, Bowie said she prefers jumping into the game to eliminate other players.
Reflecting on her nine years of gaming and streaming, Bowie said she has always enjoyed it. She thanked her family for their encouragement and her friends for playing alongside her along the way.
