Open-source project AnyPS5 attempts to run PS5 games on Windows and Linux, no public release yet

The open-source project AnyPS5 is attempting to run PS5 games directly on Windows and Linux, though no public release is available yet. The developers state that the tool can currently execute up to a game's main function, but has not yet fully run a complete game.

开源项目AnyPS5尝试让PS5游戏在Windows和Linux运行 尚无公开版本

AnyPS5 works by relinking PS5 game executables into formats usable by PC systems and re-implementing host system libraries for dynamic calling by games. This approach is similar to Wine or Proton. Since the PS5 uses an x86-64 Zen 2 architecture similar to modern PCs, the project does not emulate the CPU; instead, it recompiles shaders into the SPIR-V format for use with Vulkan.

The developers stated that they have completed work on exception handling, and the SPIR-V generated by the shader recompiler has passed validation. The progress notes in the project repository mention that an actual game can display its logo, enter the main menu, and run some gameplay content with audio; however, as there is no public release, this progress cannot yet be independently verified by outsiders.

The project has not released any downloadable versions at this time. The developers indicated that they will only publish a release once a game can fully launch via AnyPS5. Currently, AnyPS5 has not yet successfully run a complete game.
