Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon launched a poll asking players which game they would like to see make a comeback. At the time of writing, Killer Instinct was temporarily in the lead with over half the votes. This is a poll about revival interest, with no new project announcements accompanying it.
Other options in the poll include Riot's 2XKO, Brawlhalla, and the canceled MultiVersus. Boon had previously expressed interest in Killer Instinct, but this poll is simply asking players which game they would like to see get another chance.
Killer Instinct launched as a day-one title for the Xbox One, reviving Rare's classic fighting game franchise. The gameplay focuses on combos and combo-breakers; post-launch updates also added characters from other Xbox franchises, including RAAM from Gears of War and the Arbiter from Halo.
Since then, Killer Instinct has entered maintenance mode. In recent years, it has received only sporadic updates and balance tweaks. Its current lead in the poll reflects the choices of participating players, but whether a new installment will be released remains uncertain.
