Seven years after its initial release, Avengers: Endgame returned to theaters and topped the global box office in its re-release opening weekend with approximately $86 million. The North American market contributed around $26 million, while other regions accounted for about $60 million.
This Disney and Marvel film, originally released in 2019, featured mostly the original content during this run, with a few minutes of new footage related to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday added. Following the re-release, the global cumulative box office for Avengers: Endgame rose to $2.885 billion.
According to IGN statistics, this re-release achieved the second-highest opening weekend box office for a film re-release in history, surpassed only by the 2012 re-release of Titanic 3D.
Meanwhile, the new Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger earned approximately $50 million in its second weekend, bringing its cumulative box office to $196.5 million against a production budget of $75 million. Brad Pitt's The Beast Heart grossed $50.1 million globally; Robert Pattinson's Prime Time earned $20.06 million, and Island of Oblivion also entered the top five at the box office.
