The demo for "Imo" showcases gameplay features such as monster collecting, photo-taking and dress-up, and branching evolution. While there are already many monster-collecting games on the market, this title goes beyond mere collection and combat by allowing players to form a "connection" with their partner monsters. This bond lets players control their partners and even converse with other monsters.
The monsters in the game are called "Imos." They range from fluffy creatures resembling real-world animals to more bizarre designs, such as one-eyed beings. At the start of the story, players choose between two partner options: one resembling a lion cub skilled in melee combat, and another with white fur adept at ranged attacks. Players can only select one, and both partners can communicate directly with the player in human language.
Players can activate camera mode in-game to photograph scenes and Imos from various angles, with photos saved by date in the game folder. Imos can also be accessorized with bows, wigs, hats, or backpacks, and players can pick them up and hold them.
For collection, players use the "Mystery Cube" to capture wild Imos. Upon entering capture mode, the capture rate is displayed in real-time; factors like throwing angle and the target's status will affect this value. Players can carry up to four Imos in their party at once.
Imos can evolve, but specific conditions must be met and materials prepared. The demo presents multiple branching evolution paths, requiring players to decide which form their partner will take. Along the way, players may encounter other Imo tamers who already have evolved Imos.
