astragon Entertainment released the 1.0 full version of Seafarer: The Ship Sim on September 24. The game had previously been in Early Access on PC, and this full release simultaneously launched on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, supporting cross-platform co-op for up to four players.
Developed by astragon Development, Seafarer: The Ship Sim is set in an open world inspired by Northern Europe. Players can take on tasks such as cargo transport, patrols, rescue operations, and firefighting to overcome challenges and build their maritime career; some missions appear randomly.
The PC version entered Early Access on October 7, 2025. With the full release, players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S can team up across platforms to share crew duties aboard ships and complete sailing missions together.
As players increase their reputation with various ports and factions, they can unlock new options and larger vessels. The game also features a story campaign involving sabotage, piracy, and mysteries hidden for years.
During Early Access, the game gradually added new ships, cargo types, an expanded economic system, and cooperative multiplayer gameplay. The 1.0 full release builds on this foundation by adding eight new missions and implementing numerous gameplay improvements.
