The domestic Unreal Engine 5 knightly fantasy action game, Tides of Annihilation, will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. In previous demo versions, the female protagonist's face suffered from excessive soft-light rendering, which smoothed out the sharp contours of her jawline and brow bone, resulting in a blurred skin appearance that lost the cold, realistic character气质 of the initial version. This change sparked significant controversy within the player community, prompting the development team to respond that they would continue optimizing facial presentation under different lighting conditions.
According to recently leaked footage from the latest offline demo, the female protagonist's facial presentation has been adjusted and optimized. The sharp texture of her jawline and brow bone has been restored, and skin surface details are once again visible, returning the character to her original cool and heroic design. The hair and cloth physics effects, which were of great concern to players, have also been restored.

However, many players who experienced the new version remained rational, pointing out that certain character animations still had minor flaws such as jittering, indicating room for further refinement. Others stated they would wait and see, reserving their final judgment until the official release.
Drawing inspiration from the Arthurian legends, Tides of Annihilation won the "Most Epic Project" award at Gamescom and competed alongside major titles like God of War for the Golden Joystick Award. The game features core elements such as fast-paced combat, knight synergies, and colossal bosses. Multiple offline demo sessions have shown that the development team has been actively collecting player feedback and continuously iterating and polishing various modules, including characters and combat.
