According to statistics from the unofficial data site SteamDB, the game's concurrent player count has exceeded 42,000. Furthermore, it entered the top 10 on the Steam Best Sellers list, and at the time of writing, it holds a 97% positive user rating, earning an "Overwhelmingly Positive" status.

Final Fantasy: Resonance is built on the concept of "if Final Fantasy had continued to evolve along the pixel art route," utilizing HD-2D visuals to reimagine the content from the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Producer Keisuke Nakajima and scenario writer Yukinori Kitajima have expressed their gratitude for this achievement.

This record applies only to single-player titles in the series; the highest concurrent player count for the franchise overall still belongs to the live-service title Final Fantasy XIV. Additionally, the console and PC versions of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Final Fantasy XVI were not released simultaneously, whereas the console and PC versions of Final Fantasy: Resonance launched nearly at the same time, meaning release conditions differed across these titles.

Final Fantasy: Resonance is now available on Steam, Microsoft Store, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. Demo versions are also available on each store, allowing players to experience the complete first chapter.
