PSA Confirms Theft of 6,451 Pokémon and Sports Trading Cards! FBI Involved in Investigation

Collectible card grading company PSA has announced new developments in the October 13 theft case: over 200 packages were stolen from a FedEx truck parked outside PSA's headquarters in Santa Ana, California. The stolen items include Pokémon and sports trading cards. While police previously estimated the value at nearly $1 million, PSA has now confirmed that the theft involves 6,451 items.

PSA stated that the company is cooperating with the Santa Ana Police Department and the FBI, both of which are investigating the case. PSA has provided video footage, shipping manifests, and item-by-item records to investigators.

To help identify and recover the stolen goods, PSA has released the full list of stolen items and deactivated the certification numbers for all stolen graded collectibles. This information has also been shared with trading platforms, auction houses, and digital marketplaces to monitor whether these items re-enter the market.

Compensation for affected customers will not wait until the investigation concludes. PSA is proactively contacting those involved and has already refunded grading fees; this refund is separate from final compensation and will not be deducted from future payouts. The company has also provided handling guidelines based on whether customers used official return labels, their own labels, or had dealers submit items on their behalf. Customers in need can contact PSA's support team.
