Spike Chunsoft has readjusted the PC system requirements for Danganronpa 2×2, lowering the minimum RAM to 8GB and reducing the installation space from 40GB to 30GB. The previously announced recommended specs included 32GB of RAM and an RTX 4070 or RX 7700 XT graphics card, which sparked player skepticism given the game's text-heavy narrative focus.
The adjusted minimum specs require an Intel Core i5-10500 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X processor, 8GB of RAM, and a GTX 1660 or RX 5600 XT graphics card. For higher settings, an RTX 2060 or RX 6600 is recommended, while RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT is needed for 4K gameplay.
Producer Shohei Sakakibara previously explained that the initially published specs were estimated based on a 4K high-quality target and promised to revisit the requirements. He also stated that the Nintendo Switch version has been properly optimized.
Danganronpa 2×2 is scheduled to launch on PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on January 14, 2027. The new specs lower the theoretical hardware barrier, but actual optimization performance remains to be confirmed after the game's official release.
