Foreign Media Calls on Nintendo to Port The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD

Recently, ComicBook media outlet called on Nintendo to port The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD to the Switch or Switch 2. This proposal uses the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a starting point and is not an official porting plan announced by Nintendo.

外媒呼吁任天堂移植《塞尔达:风之杖HD》和《黄昏公主HD》

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD were released on the Wii U in 2013 and 2016 respectively, and still have no versions for Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2. The former improved upon the GameCube original with high-resolution graphics and gameplay adjustments, while the latter also received visual enhancements and other optimizations. Therefore, the author believes that both HD versions remain important ways to experience these respective works.

The author argues that after The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake received its own dedicated promotional space, Nintendo should also bring the existing Wii U versions to current platforms. Even if it's just a direct port, it would allow new players lacking older hardware to access these titles and make it easier for veteran players to revisit them.

If performance enhancements, control optimizations, and modern hardware compatibility were added for a new version, the author believes both titles would be better suited for the Switch 2. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess each have distinct art styles, atmospheres, and adventure structures. Currently, Nintendo has not announced any related porting plans.
