Following the cancellation of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake in early 2026, an anonymous player recently published an open letter offering to contribute over €5 million from personal funds to help Ubisoft continue and complete the project.
The player posted the open letter addressed to the Ubisoft team on Reddit. He stated that the financial contribution is contingent upon signing a formal agreement with both parties, and one of the purposes of the letter is to find an official channel to directly contact Ubisoft's management.
The author attributed this proposal to his love for the series, stating that it is not a commercial investment. He said he would not seek sales royalties, future profits, or ownership of the Prince of Persia intellectual property, nor does he intend to interfere with Ubisoft's business decisions or the creative direction of the project.
The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was announced over five years ago and has since undergone various setbacks, including changes in development studios. When canceling the project, Ubisoft cited that the time and investment required to complete the game exceeded what the company could responsibly bear.
