Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 76's cumulative player count has surpassed 25 million. This milestone was announced during the "Fallout Day" event in late October 2026, with the team reiterating their commitment to maintaining a steady pace of content updates.
Creative Director Jonathan Rush and Executive Producer Bill LaCoste announced this news in a video introducing the upcoming World Pets update, thanking players for their continued support. This comes just weeks before Fallout 76 celebrates its eighth anniversary on November 14.
Official historical data records the growth in player base:
Over 11 million in November 2021
Reached 12 million in June 2022
Increased to 15 million in June 2023
Reached 20 million in May 2024
Rose to 23 million in June 2025
Finally surpassed 25 million in October 2026
These figures represent the cumulative number of unique players, not actual sales data.
Fallout 76 joined Xbox Game Pass in July 2020, later becoming available on PlayStation Now and the modern PS Plus service, and was featured as a PS Plus Monthly Game in January 2023.
Following the premiere of Amazon's Fallout series in April 2024, interest in the franchise saw a significant resurgence. Fallout 76 attracted over 1 million players in a single day that month, and its cumulative player count has grown from 20 million to 25 million over the past two-plus years.
