Dune: Awakening Free Expansion Coming in December! Offline Mode Launches in November

Dune: Awakening will launch the free expansion "Blood and Ice" in December, shifting the survival stage from the desert to the polar regions. An offline mode that can be played without an internet connection will go live in November.

The expansion will unlock a new map, "Polar Basin," where extreme cold becomes the primary threat players must contend with, rendering existing desert survival techniques ineffective. Players will need to upgrade their gear, gather new resources, and adjust their strategies. The map is divided into two biomes: tundra and ice sheet. The journey will begin in the relatively milder tundra, where local factions are unwelcoming of outsiders interfering in their affairs.

Afterward, players must venture deep into the ice sheet to find high-value resources, including ice that can cool base equipment and accelerate production. The expansion is expected to offer around 35 hours of new progression content, along with new vehicle modules, enhancement projects, and specialization traits. Future updates plan to add further reasons to revisit this area.

The game will also add a cosmetics store, offering options for outfits, vehicle skins, and base decorations. The feature to copy multiplayer server characters to single-player mode is scheduled for release next January, with full cross-platform play also planned for the same time.
