Team Liquid claimed the championship at the Apex Legends ALGS Year 6 Split 2 Playoffs Finals, held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The team lifted the trophy after nine games of intense competition, taking home the $600,000 first-place prize.
The finals utilized a match point system, where the 20 teams needed to first reach a 50-point threshold and then win a subsequent game to end the competition. Alliance and Forged Wolves Gaming were the first to reach match point in Game 5, with White Grim Reaper also hitting the 50-point mark after winning that same game. Team Vision entered match point in Game 6 with an impressive 18 eliminations, earning 30 points in a single game.
Team Liquid didn't reach the match point threshold until Game 7. At that time, Forged Wolves were just about 30 HP away from victory, but Team Liquid won a crucial engagement, extending the series. This victory also marked Zer0's 100th ALGS win. In Game 8, Aurora secured a win in the chaotic final circle, once again preventing the competition from ending.
Heading into Game 9, Team Liquid quickly eliminated Team Vision and then leveraged their advantageous positioning to defeat Rex Regum Qeon, securing the championship. This title marks the fifth major Apex Legends tournament trophy for Australian player Rhys "Zer0" Perry, who also became the first player to achieve 100 ALGS victories.
