AMD has released the optional AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.10.2 driver, focusing on improving stability for three specific hardware configurations when running certain games, while also launching the AMD FSR SDK 2.4 for developers.
These improvements cover Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs running Immortals of Aveum, Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs running Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Ryzen AI MAX PRO 400 series processors running Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
The main change on the development side is that FSR SDK 2.4 introduces FSR "Redstone" technology to Vulkan for the first time, bringing Vulkan's FSR upscaling and frame generation capabilities in line with DirectX 12. AMD states that Vulkan games integrating FSR SDK 2.4 or later can use FSR Upscaling 4.1.2, and Radeon RX 9000 series users can also utilize FSR Frame Generation 4.0.2.
Existing Vulkan games using FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.1 will not automatically gain support for the new machine learning-based FSR after players update their drivers. Developers must still integrate the corresponding SDK into these games to enable the new features.
