"Mario Kart World" PC Emulation Demo Enables DLSS 5, Graphics Look Amazing

Recently, gaming blogger ChillyWillMD shared a new video showcasing the effects of enabling NVIDIA DLSS 5 neural rendering for Mario Kart World in a PC emulation environment. The demo ran at 60 FPS using an RTX 5060 Ti graphics card and an Intel Core i9-13900K processor.

Video Showcase:

DLSS 5 changes the game's lighting perception, making some scenes resemble clips from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and also demonstrates the effects of neural rendering applied to stylized graphics. However, emulator performance typically relies more on the processor, so this performance cannot be entirely attributed to the graphics card.

The current effect still has noticeable shortcomings; aliasing is visible along the edges of character models, and the light produced by the racing car headlights contains noise. There is still room for improvement in image quality.

The Switch series uses NVIDIA hardware, and the Switch 2 already supports a lightweight version of DLSS super resolution. However, this content is merely a third-party technical demonstration in a PC emulation environment and does not indicate that the NS2 version of Mario Kart World has received a DLSS 5 update.
