An unofficial character replacement mod has appeared for "Phantom Blade Zero," allowing players to replace the protagonist Hun with Sun Wukong from "Black MYTH - Steam Edition: Wukong." This mod was released by player asubdneif on Nexus Mods.

This mod does more than just swap the character's surface textures. The creator configured independent skeletons and body proportions for Sun Wukong, reducing obvious anomalies such as neck and shoulder stretching. Both the young and older versions of Hun are replaced, and Sun Wukong appears in both actual gameplay and cutscenes.
However, Sun Wukong's iconic staff was not ported over with the character; players still use the original weapon system from "Phantom Blade Zero."
Currently, various character replacement mods have appeared for "Phantom Blade Zero," including Minecraft's Steve, NieR: Automata's 2B, Stellar Blade's Eve, and The First Descendant's Virbi. Additionally, there are mods that add custom orc characters or adjust the difficulty and mechanics to be closer to a Souls-like experience.
