"GTA 6" is scheduled for release on November 19, prompting many publishers to advance or delay their game launches to avoid clashing with this title. Analysts believe that this shift in release schedules may provide "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake" and "World of Warcraft: Infinite" with a relatively open window for new releases.
"World of Warcraft: Infinite" will launch on PC on November 4, while "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake" will become a key title for Switch 2 on November 8. Both games are scheduled to release before "GTA 6," contrasting with other publishers who are actively avoiding the November window.
Mat Piscatella, Head of Games at Circana, stated that publishers may have different reasons for adjusting release dates: some products fear direct competition, while others may not want their market attention to be overshadowed by Rockstar's new title. However, genres such as casual simulation, first-person shooters, and puzzle-platformers may not necessarily need to avoid the clash.
Piscatella pointed out that "GTA 6" will not be available on PC, whereas "World of Warcraft: Infinite" targets PC users; Nintendo's first-party titles also typically enjoy stable space on their own platforms. Circana's tracking data shows that among consumers planning to purchase "GTA 6," about 15% also intend to buy "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake," indicating some audience overlap between the two.
He believes that "GTA 6," as a core holiday season product, could drive industry spending and attract new players. However, he did not assert that Nintendo and Blizzard would definitely benefit, only suggesting that such a possibility exists.
