The principle relies on the stacking lifesteal effect from the Parasite and Heavy Attack Charge stones obtained at the start. This effect actually increases your maximum health.
This effect is not bound to the character but to the weapon, as each weapon equips stones independently.
Once your current weapon has stacked a sufficiently high maximum health, switch to another weapon. Your current health will be retained. Since the maximum health decreases, your overall health percentage increases. Switching back grants the buff again, raising the maximum health and consequently increasing your current health. Repeating this process will restore you to full health.
