Recently, media reports indicated that the incident of the Fujian Government Services Unified Platform (abbreviated as "Min Zhengtong APP") being counterfeited on the Apple App Store has attracted online attention.
Investigation revealed that the counterfeit app is named "Min Zhengtong," and its download page still labels it as a "government convenience service application."
Notably, this app can currently only be found in the Apple App Store and cannot be searched for in the app stores of some Android phone brands.
In response, the official Min Zhengtong app team stated that they have reported the situation to the relevant authorities, who are coordinating to handle the issue. Citizens can also report the app directly through the Apple App Store.
According to the official introduction of Min Zhengtong, it is the unified platform for Fujian Province's government services, hosted by the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, and constructed by the Fujian Provincial Economic Information Center.
However, recently some netizens discovered an almost identical app called "Min Zhengtong" on the Apple App Store. Its icon style and description are very similar to the official "Min Zhengtong" app, with only slight differences.
On the introduction page for "Min Zhengtong," it claims to be a one-stop civil affairs convenience service application designed for Fujian residents.
Currently, 59 users have rated this app, but the reviews are mostly comments like "fake," "stealing information," and "guides users to bind bank cards for malicious charges."
As early as August 7, the official Min Zhengtong WeChat account published a post titled "A One-Character Difference Is a Trap: Beware of Counterfeit Government Apps, Don't Download the Wrong One."
The post stated that recently, some members of the public reported that a counterfeit app named "Min Zhengtong" appeared in certain mobile app stores. With only a one-character difference from the official "Min Zhengtong," it is easily confused with the legitimate app, posing risks of personal information leakage and financial fraud. The public is urged to remain vigilant and carefully verify apps.
