The Pokémon Company recently announced that its 3DS application, Pokémon Bank, will officially cease operations on February 27, 2027. At that time, the feature allowing transfers from Pokémon Bank to Pokémon Home will also be disabled. Officials have reminded users to migrate all Pokémon stored in the Bank to Pokémon Home before the service cutoff date to avoid data loss.
Pokémon Home will continue to operate as normal. Meanwhile, it has been officially confirmed that Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen will launch on the Switch eShop this October. In line with the series' standard rules, Pokémon transferred from these titles to other games will not be able to return, and Pokémon from other games cannot be transferred into FireRed/LeafGreen.
As an additional bonus, officials announced that players who complete the Pokédex in FireRed/LeafGreen can claim the Mythical Pokémon "Celebi" in the mobile version of Pokémon Home.
Additionally, The Pokémon Company teased a new title for the Switch 2 platform—Pokémon: Wind/Wave—scheduled for release in 2027. While details remain scarce, the announcement has generated significant anticipation among fans, with more information expected to be revealed in the coming months.
