Publisher SEGA and developer Creative Assembly have announced that Total War: WARHAMMER III - Lords of the End Times will officially launch on September 24. This DLC is the largest expansion in the series' ten-year history, introducing four new apocalypse-inspired Legendary Lords to the grand "Immortal Empires" campaign. Furthermore, the DLC includes numerous new battlefield units and new features closely tied to the game's lore, accompanied by a significant free update.
According to Creative Assembly, each Legendary Lord offers a unique strategic gameplay experience based on the Warhammer universe. They include: Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead, who seeks to drain the life force of the world to achieve godhood; Boris Todbringer, Elector Count of Middenland, who fights to defend the Empire and strives to rekindle the Flame of Ulric; Glottkin, who spreads Nurgle's grotesque gardens across the land; and Tzeentch, who orchestrates intricate schemes with his cunning stratagems.
Fighting alongside each Legendary Lord are some of the most impressive characters and units in the series, including: Kemrik Titan, a massive, magic-powered scarab-like construct; Skarbrand, the powerful daemon embodiment of Khorne; the Plague Kings, a decaying elite brotherhood swarming with Nurglings; and the Celestial Hurricane, a magical war altar infused with the eight Winds of Magic.
For the first time in the series, players can purchase the "Lords of the End Times" content pack (either as a bundle or separately) to experience the vast "Immortal Empires" campaign without owning any previous Total War: WARHAMMER titles, making it an excellent entry point for new players.
"Lords of the End Times" also marks one of the largest free updates in the series' history. The centerpiece of this update is Neferata, the Vampire Queen, who arrives as a Legendary Lord. Additionally, the update includes comprehensive overhauls for the Vampire Counts and Archaon the Everchosen, a new endgame scenario, new victory conditions for each Legendary Lord, and many other features.
