Recently, foreign media outlet GameSpot released new gameplay footage of The Witcher 3: Remake, showcasing the graphical overhaul, combat revamp, armor transmogrification, and more. It also features gameplay from the new DLC, "Old Songs." Let's take a look!
Remake Gameplay:
This remake is not merely a simple HD patch, but a comprehensive modernization of the game. The combat system has been completely overhauled, with Geralt gaining multiple new finishing move animations, while dodging and sword-swinging actions are now smoother. Monster AI logic has been reworked, and all spell effects have been updated. The skill tree has been entirely rebuilt from the ground up, further enhancing the strategic depth of build combinations. The handling of his horse, Roach, has also been optimized. A new armor transmogrification system allows players to freely change their character's appearance. The photo mode has been significantly expanded, offering a wide range of camera angles and filter options to help players capture the scenery across the continent. Lighting, vegetation, and character textures have been fully iterated, supporting ray-traced global illumination. The PC version supports upscaling technologies like DLSS and FSR, with specific optimizations for the PS5 Pro.
The Witcher 3's new paid DLC, "Old Songs," tells the next chapter in Geralt's story and is scheduled for release in 2027. The story takes place in Lyria, Dandelion's homeland. The new DLC will introduce fresh romance content, with Lila, Dandelion's cousin, becoming Geralt's new love interest.
