CDPR is undertaking a massive remake of its most popular title, The Witcher 3, with the remastered version expected to release before the "Old Times" DLC slated for 2027.
The Witcher 3: Remastered will also be coming to the Switch 2 platform soon. For players concerned that the remaster might suffer from the original game's limitations on the Switch 2, CDPR assured that The Witcher 3 Remastered will run smoothly on both the Steam Deck and the Switch 2.
In an interview with PC Gamer, CDPR stated that The Witcher 3: Remastered should run without major issues on either the Steam Deck or the Switch 2.
According to Jakub Kutrzuba, Executive Producer of External Projects at the studio, The Witcher 3: Remastered can deliver improvements without significantly increasing hardware costs.
This is thanks to the team's brand-new rendering engine. As a result, CDPR stated that performance on the Steam Deck will remain largely consistent with before, while delivering an enhanced visual experience. As for the Switch 2, fans can expect similar improvements.
"We can absolutely present more refined visuals at the same cost. The same applies to the Nintendo Switch 2."
