A former developer recently stated in an interview with foreign media that Disney, after witnessing the explosive popularity of "Super Smash Bros.," had planned to create a Smash-style game featuring its own all-star cast. Although the game outline and planning were completed, the project ultimately never came to fruition.
· The game had already been titled "Disney’s Action Figure Face Off." The impetus for its planning came not only from the massive success of "Super Smash Bros." but also from the triumph of Disney's own "Kingdom Hearts."
· The original concept for "Disney’s Action Figure Face Off" was to transform Disney's vast roster of star characters into "battle figurines" for a Smash Bros.-style showdown. However, just as the initial planning took shape, Disney executives shifted their development strategy to emphasize "promoting games in conjunction with film or TV releases," quickly redirecting attention to other projects and causing this title to be cancelled.
