New Resident Evil Movie Predicted to Exceed $100 Million in Global Opening Weekend

The new "Resident Evil" film directed by Zach Cregg is now projected to exceed $100 million in global opening box office revenue. Previous forecasts for the new "Resident Evil" movie estimated a domestic opening between $60 million and $80 million.

For comparison, this puts its opening box office on par with some of the most successful horror films in recent times. "Alien: Romulus" grossed approximately $108 million globally during its opening, "Final Destination: Bloodlines" opened with $102 million, and "Five Nights at Freddy's" had a global opening of around $131 million.

Reportedly, the film has generated significant buzz overseas, prompting Sony to expand its global promotional tour. Zach Cregg and Austin Abrams will kick off the international tour in Brazil this week.
