Indie developer CornflowerBlue announced the high-speed 3D action-adventure platformer Lina's Light Speed on September 7. The game will launch on PC via Steam, with a Kickstarter campaign simultaneously launched aiming for $45,000.
The game focuses on high-speed movement, combat, and exploration. Players control Lina as she traverses islands of various sizes, moving between looped paths, ramps, towns, and other areas while battling bosses, finding treasures, and acquiring new abilities.
The story takes place in a region known as the "Ephemera Islands." After a spaceship is shot down, heart-shaped gems called "Comets" by the locals begin to fall. Lina, a former thief turned treasure hunter, arrives at the islands intending to profit from selling these gems, but things go awry when a pink alien and her former master appear.
During exploration, Lina can find alien technology called "Spur Arts," which grants her enhanced abilities, expanding her moveset and accessible areas. Each island features a non-linear design, allowing players to enter towns to talk with NPCs and search for hidden treasures across different zones.
In addition to ability upgrades, the game offers various cosmetic outfits, including dresses, business attire, and mascot costumes. The game supports both controller and keyboard/mouse inputs, though the developers recommend using a controller. No specific release date has been announced yet.
