Marvel's Wolverine is one of the most anticipated first-party titles for the PS5 this year, and its release is just around the corner. In fact, following the latest round of previews, review embargoes are set to lift in just two days.
However, before these reviews go live, God of War creator David Jaffe has shared his thoughts on Marvel's Wolverine, particularly concerning its character design. In a recent video, David Jaffe leveled several harsh criticisms at the game.
In a recent video, veteran game designer David Jaffe expressed dissatisfaction with the character portrayals in Marvel's Wolverine, particularly some of the female characters.
Jaffe stated that he understands why developers opt for realistic character designs in certain games, such as Returnal. However, he believes that Insomniac Games' female character designs deviate significantly from their Marvel superhero counterparts, including Mystique, Jean Grey, and Lady Deathstrike.
"Insomniac, what on earth are you doing? Who thought this was a good idea? Who allowed this to keep happening?"
Jaffe argues that since Marvel's Wolverine is based on fantastical and inspirational characters, its designs should be eye-catching. He also pointed out that games like Marvel Rivals do not suffer from this issue.
Interestingly, many fans have voiced similar criticisms regarding the character designs in Marvel's Wolverine. In fact, a significant number of people even find Logan (Wolverine) himself to look quite strange and out of place.
